OBM has helped Hott Salons encourage guests to try new services and increase their average ticket price with ease, while also streamlining their marketing efforts with no extra work.
Hott Salons Uses OBM to Drive Awareness & Demand for Multiple In-Salon Services
Hott Salons is a multi-location, full-service hair and beauty salon based in the US. They’re known for their welcoming atmosphere and commitment to helping clients feel happier, healthier, and more confident. They use Phorest’s free OBM solution to drive client awareness and promote a range of in-salon services.

“Not only did [OBM] further our advertising of [brand partner services], but it also brought in guests for other services as well. [clients] would come in for consultations… and not only would they get the hair extensions [advertised by OBM], but they would look at other services, too.”

Meagan, General Manager & COO, Hott Salons

Discovering OBM Through the Phorest Community
The team at Hott Salons first took on OBM after hearing about it through multiple sources. Alongside their Phorest Success Manager introducing the solution, the team at Hott heard other salons speaking about OBM, detailing how it was delivering results for them.
As an innovative business always looking for new marketing opportunities, Hott was interested in getting involved, and was especially interested in how OBM could help them introduce new services to their visitors.
Promoting Extension Services
The OBM campaigns that Hott participated in involved the promotion of hair extensions using polished, professional, benefit-focused marketing material created by Phorest and the brand in collaboration.
These OBM campaigns helped Hott Salons highlight the multiple benefits of hair extensions, and encouraged clients to book consultations. The team saw an instant benefit to running the campaigns, with an immediate increase in interest and new consultation bookings coming in.

Driving Demand for Other Services
As well as successfully promoting hair extension consultations, the OBM campaigns that Hott Salons participated in began positively impacting other services.
“Not only did [OBM] further our advertising [of hair extension services], but it also brought in guests for other services as well. Some of them would come in for consultations, and not only would they get the hair extensions, but they would look at other services, too,” said Meagan.
According to Meagan, many clients who came in for a single hair extension consultation ended up not only purchasing extension packs and booking installations, but also paired these services with styling and blowout add-ons.
This cross-service discovery boosted revenue while also creating new opportunities for the salon to build longer, stickier relationships with clients.
Marketing That Respects the Client Experience
Something that Meagan and the Hott Salons team are conscious of is not overwhelming their clients with too many emails or promotions. Instead, they focus on sending targeted and relevant communications that add value for their guests.
OBM fit perfectly into the business’ balanced approach, utilising timely delivery with relevant campaigns and professional creative to keep things relevant and engaging. And the results speak for themselves:
“We really focus heavily on making sure that when we are marketing and promoting to our guests. We don’t over-spam our guests. When coming back with the data that we received [from the OBM campaigns]… We have such a high rate because we don’t overcomplicate our guests with too much marketing or too many emails,” explained Meagan.

A Valuable Marketing Channel for Growing Services
For Hott Salons, OBM fits perfectly into their marketing strategy, offering an effective way of sending targeted marketing campaigns, promoting specific services, and also introducing guests to the wider salon experience, without adding work to their already-busy team.
